Deadpool 2 directed by David Leitch and produced by Marvel Entertainment will be hitting the theatres in May 2018, and from all the trailers until now we can infer that many new characters will be featuring in the sequel. The writers very effectively used less popular comic characters in the first venture and the same can be expected from the latest instalment. Let’s take a look at some of the characters from Deadpool 2.
Cable is being played by Josh Brolin the same actor who plays Thanos in Marvel’s Infinity War. Cable is a mutant who possesses telepathic and telekinetic abilities with enhanced physical strength and endurance. From the trailer however, it also seems like he has time travelling powers and has come from the future to stop a mutant. Many fans believe that cable’s character will be used for development of an inevitable X-Force sequel which is only rumoured as of now.
A member of the X-Force Domino played by Zazie Beetz in the film is capable of tilting the odds(probability) in her favour apart from mastery in hand-to-hand combat and marksmanship. The fact that she can alter and control reality makes her really powerful and it will be exciting to see how the character is used in the film.
Although not confirmed but highly likely Shiori Kutsuna plays Surge in the sequel who is natively from Japan but runs away from home and ends up at Xavier’s School. Surge has the ability to control electricity by absorbing it from nearby sources and then control it to cause mayhem. A notable difference between the looks of the character in the trailer and the comics is that her hair is blue in the comics as opposed to the purple shade in the trailer.
It is still not clarified what character Terry Crews plays in the sequel. It could be Bridge, a mutant who is a skilled tactician and a great combatant or Bedlam, an X-Force member who has the ability to track energy signatures. Whatever character he plays it’s would a delight to watch Terry Crews up with Ryan Reynolds.
Another rumoured mutant in the movie is a time travelling swordsman known as Shatterstar. He is an extra-dimensional genetically engineered mutant with Superhuman abilities. The character can be seen behind Pool in the plane scene from the trailer. No official announcement has been made yet about this.
Colossus (played by Stephen Kapicic) and Negasonic (played by Brianna Hildebrand) will return from the first movie and will have more than a supporting role. These characters were a hit among the fans last time around. Dopinder the driver, Blind Al and Weasel played by TJ Miller are all coming back for Deadpool 2.
So, get ready for some heavy action and a lot of fourth wall breaking by the Merc with the Mouth this May.
