Whether you’re a space enthusiast or just an average netflix viewer, ‘lost in space’ has got something for everybody. Written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, this sci-fi series based on the old 1965 one with the same name, has definitely turned a lot heads towards it. From stunning visuals to a decent storyline, from family drama to thrilling escapes, this series is surely a one to look out for.
The story revolves around a family of space colonists ‘Robinsons’ whose spaceship diverted from it’s original course to an unknown planet where they have to fight for their survival among the planet’s mysterious and wildly conditions. The Robinsons are a family of five and each member plays a significant role in the safeguard of the family.
The dad ‘John Robinson’ (played by Toby Stephens) is a seasoned combat veteran whereas the mother ‘Maureen Robinson’ (played by Molly parker) is an aerospace engineer. The two daughters ‘Judy Robinson’ (played Taylor Russell) and ‘Penny Robinson’ (played by Mina Sundwall) are a complete opposite in character with one being the serious one and other a bit sarcastic and humourous. The kid in the family ‘Will Robinson’ and probably an important one as denoted by the original poster is played by Maxwell Jenkins.
The only speculations about the series are about it being a bit too kid-friendly and the villainous character ‘Dr. Smith’s’ off role (played by Parker Posey). But, the Martian vibe, ‘Major Don’s’ (played by Ignacio Serricchio) acting and the overall mind blowing effects pretty much makes up for the speculations. The alien/robot’s (in the poster) whole world, the theoretical physics around the series, the Robinson’s survival scene etc show great potential for upcoming seasons.
Whether one wants to bingewatch the series or watch it with friends or family, the best way is to not except tooooo much and it will be a fun series to watch and will totally be worth it.
